Replacement dwelling at Ballig, Cornaa, Maughold.
This site is located on the Cornaa Loop Road within the Parish of Maughold. The site is not visible from any public vantage point, but is afforded beautiful countryside landscape views and is accessible across a small stream. The existing two storey Manx cottage has been demolished and is to be replaced with a replacement two storey four Bedroom dwelling.
The proposed replacement dwelling is to be constructed in a traditional timber oak frame, off a solid concrete slab floor and concrete strip foundations. The timber oak frame, to the main two storey dwelling, is to be enveloped externally in Structural Insulated Panels, (SIPS), with a clear cavity and block outer leaf, to be finished externally in an external render system. The single storey Sun Room, which is located off the open plan Kitchen/Family Room will have a natural stone dwarf wall with direct glazing installed to the main oak frame. The roof slopes will be finished externally in natural slates.
Indicated is a selection of the approved Working Drawings showing the Front Elevation, Section and Production Detail for the Sun Room window sill, together with on site photographs of the erected traditional oak frame and a proposed 3D Render showing the main two storey dwelling with its external render finish and the traditional oak frame Sun Room.
Commenced on site July 2012.
