Redevelopment of Bridge Chambers, West Quay, Ramsey.
The original three storey building located in the Conservation area on the West Quay of Ramsey Harbour was in a dilapidated state and a replacement three storey building was approved with the stipulation that the existing elevation details and window fenestration were to be replicated. A further application for a replacement four storey building was granted approval at appeal, again, with the original elevation treatment maintained through the four storeys.
The replacement building is constructed in a steel portal frame with cavity block wall panels between. The ornate stone moulding details taken from the demolished original building were replicated in high quality GRP. The accommodation within the four storey replacement building comprises three levels of Office accommodation set over the ground, first and second floor levels with a self contained apartment at the top level. An external flat roof terrace is concealed behind a mono pitched roof to West Quay providing breath taking panoramic views over Ramsey Harbour and beyond. This timber decked roof terrace is accessible from all floor levels via an internal lift system.
Indicated are the Ground Floor Plan, Section and West Quay Elevation drawings, together with a 3D Render and as built photographs taken from West Quay and Ramsey Harbour.
Completed Summer 2011.
